Hello, everyone, I greet you now from my new linux box.

I met a clown yesterday.

This is what he said:

I ran KDE just fine on my shitty 1.2 GHZ 128MB HP with onboard video.

(to be fair, it's got a video card in it now, but it's sitting in David's closet.)

but the linux programs are better. I say go download a torrent of suse linux!
As a linux user since 2+ years, I say:

:goggly: wha

If you use gnome, the non-pretty desktop environment, you can get away with having a crappy comp.

KDE is uglier than Gnome.
Gnome is pretty big as well, actually. I use XFce, because it doesn't take 30 seconds to finish loading, and is still fairly easy to figure out if you're used to Windows.

and btw, it's pretty funny to hear people say Vista is crap and Xp is awesome. A few years ago when Xp was released people kept complaining how bad it is compared to windows 98. You just need to adapt, I'm pretty sure Vista runs good. It may lack compatibility with some programs because it's brand new, but I'm sure it's worth the update. In my case I'd wait a little, but I'll be sure to use Vista when I get a new computer.

Most vista editions artificially limit the number of computers in a home network to five. nuff said.

there is no reason at all for an OS to limit its users like that. Eg, it's hardcoded, and entirely artificial (it's not like there aren't enough IPs or anything). They just want to make you buy Ultimate.
