prague, eh? Ill be going there in sumemr for a week. I have heard that alcohol is really cheap in the Czech Republic as compared to here. You know any places where I can get really cheap spirits and beer to smuggle across the border? ;)
if u will go to any pub u can get there beer for about half a euro. these kond of pubs r gr8,smoke is everywhere, men come here after work before they go home, they're all usually drunk. but if u want sth different than go to Rock cafe, beer is there for about an euro and a lot of young people go there. or hells bells. u can go to their web-www.hellsbells.cz, it has an english version as well.is it enoough or u want more?

Thanks for the answers, I'll check by those places when I go there, but
I am also looking for liquor stores, because I want to buy spirits and beer for really cheap (since pilsner urquell is one of my fav beers, but I pay 1 euro 50 for a pilsner here :/) and take them across the border (of course I want to buy more than the allowed 2 litres per person ^^). So I was wondering if you know anywhere where I could get the stuff cheap. Because I only have one week for looking around ^^.

how do u travel? by car?

by train, they generally don't look through "normal" peoples stuff, at least it has never happened to me so far, so it's pretty much the best way ^^

yeah,i think so. i dont know about any special place where to buy alcohol but i'd go to some big shopping centres, like careffour or tesco,globus,hypernova,... they're big and sometimes they may have some good offers.you can try it there.but i think we dont have any special place with very cheep alcohol.

You like Mead? In switzerland I pay 16 euros for a .75cl bottle and just 10meters across the border in Germany I pay 2 euros a bottle, and the German mead is way better ^^. Also for spirits I pay a lot. For instance for Absolut Vodka I pay 20 euros, whereas in Germany I'd pay 10 euros :/ and now that theyve legalized the original Absinthe again just recently, I pay about 70 euros a bottle here ^^. That's why I hope to kind of stock up when I go to Prague, because by train it's generally easyer than by plane ;)

nah I mean real Mead-> Met lieblich. It's not a brand, just made by a(hmm whats the word for Imkerei in English?^^). That one is the one I get in Germany and it's just amazingly great. The one here in Switzerland is made by this Medieval shop we have in Bern, but in comparison to the other it doesn't taste very good and I pay about 5 times the price!!!

Mead is great, especially when drinking it out of this handcrafted horn I bought in Scandinavia once. Sometimes I drink 2 bottles of mead an evening, it simply goes down so well and has such a refreshing taste. I for sure take it before beer, eventhough theres some beer sorts i really love.

I pay 2 euros for 75 cl bottles, so I don't see what your prob is, I just go to the shopping center in Germany right across the border to switzerland and they have tons of it.

Mead is amazingly simple to make yourself, in both small and large quantities. It's also dirt cheap to make and doesn't take too long to ferment, and that way you can either flavour it with whatever you want (then it's technically a melomel or pyomel) or just leave it plain. My own mead kicks any storebought mead's ass ( i m h o). And I'm with VikingR - it's best in a meadhorn.

I have also already made Mead myself and it was also really good, because you can make so many different tastes, so I tried Krigsmjöd with berry juices and it was awesome, will for sure have to make it again. I also sold a whole lot of it to my friends and made quite much money on it.
