Help with Drum editing/Mixing

Hi my names Tom, a couple months back my drummer recorded a couple tracks in a studio. I was given the disk with these tracks. I have very limited knowledge of drum editing and mixing as i normally use samples.

I've done as much as i can, trying to use melodyne etc and i just cant seem to get anywhere with them, they still sound terrible!

I was wondering if any of you would be kind enough to have a look and see if they are recorded badly hindering the processing i do to them and if you have any tips and advice on how i could make them sound like a bitchin metal kit!!

I am using logic studio 9 at the moment and all of the plugins it comes with.

...you're using melodyne to edit drums?

Only as trial really. I heard a lot of good things about the new version of melodyne being good for drum editing, i tried it and it used all of my 6gb of memory lol so obviously it cant be that great!
