hey im 15, about to be 16 and im wondering if any one aroung my age will be attending progpower this year. dont get me wrong i have alot of older friends i party with at PP, but i think every one can communicate better with ppl their own age. i know yall are out there!!:kickass:

Don't worry about it. Everybody's very cool at PP no matter their age. Just don't be afraid to talk to people. When you get to the hotel and you see people hanging out in the lobby, talk to them. When you get to the show talk to people. I've never met anybody at the show that I wouldn't hang out with. Who cares how old they are? If they're cool, they're cool.

There is the no-alcohol issue though, so you might wanna find somebody with the same issue to hang with. The more people you talk to, the better the chance you'll find others to hang with.

Nice to know that there are ProgPower fans your age.

I know I'm old when I cringe at hearing a 16 year talk about "partying" with older friends. I'm not gonna get all preachy on you and tell you not to party (although I think you shouldn't), because the reality is I was doin' it when I was 16. Just be careful.

I'm not your age but I started coming to PP in 01' when I had just turned 18 so I know how you're feeling. However, I wouldn't sweat it, I see people in their mid-teens at the shows and stuff. I'm 23 and my friends are 20, we're not your age exactly but we don't mind hanging with other people.

Although its easier to say it, just dont feel intimidated by everyone. If you don't act like a dick, you'll be treated as equal as anyone else. I know from experience!

Justin

Just from stereotyping people, I would venture to say there are not many at the 15-16 age. I think most PP goings start at 18. So, stick with partying with us non-teens! =D

This couldn't be any truer. It's a melting pot of ages, tastes in music and tastes in beers! Definitely don't be afraid to talk to anyone. Consider us one big, happy family.

I've been bringing my step daughter since she was 15. She's 17 now, but not interested this year.

Me and a group of friends are flying out there from cali im 16 as well as 2 of my other friends 1 of us is 19. This is are first time you can kick it with us if your down =o.

What Everyone Else Said. :) ProgPower draws an amazingly cool audience, a great cross-section of fans, and I can't remember a single incident involving a fight. (Of course, the bar has never run out of beer, either. :D)

Speaking as one of the older ProgPower folks around*, I can pretty much guarantee that you can "hang" with any of us here. We're all pretty cool people. In fact, we older folks think it's great when we see a youngster getting into the bands......it kinda gives us some hope for the future. :headbang:

* with the barbaric musical tastes of a 17- or 18-yr old :)

just so yall know, this isnt my first PP, ive been attending since PPV and got slayed by Tad Morose,Kamelot, Adagio and fuckin Brainstorm! i was just curious if any one was close to my age cause its just kind of wierd hang with ppl as old or older than my mom!! (oh yeah, the reason im lookin for ppl is because the only way i got to get there is with my MOM!!!) i dont care what any of you say, hangin with your mom at PP is LAME!!!!:erk:

I was 17 when I went to my first PP last year, and I found a bunch of cool people to talk to. Just don't be afraid to talk to people.

Unfortunately, I probably won't be going this year since I'm still undecided about where I'm going to college. Hopefully, the tickets won't be sold out by the time I make up my mind!

Yep, there are some of us "OLDER" folks, but i second what Pellaz says we are all cool and really at ProgPower age doesn't matter except for the alcohol.

What? My mom comes to shows with me, and I will be 21 this October. It's a good thing she will go with you, as opposed to not allowing you to go at all.

I am happy to say that my mom likes the music, and loves going to ProgPower.

Nice. My cousin and his friends said they wanted to go, hopefully he remembered to buy a ticket, he is playing with his school band in a concert in Boston about now.

Lets be honest. In all of our respected (or not) hometowns, prog and power metal fans are usually a very rare thing, and there's hardly a strong enough presence to maintain a scene. Therefore, it would be absolutely retarded of we all gathered in masses (progpower) and the vibe was anything but cool.

Call me crazy, but I think the fest speaks volumes about us as metal fans, and people. :kickass: :kickass:

Yea, well that must be just your relationship. My kids love to go to concerts with me. Their friends listen to lame shit and I've been able to introduce them to a lot of band members. :headbang: My older son and I partied with some of the guys from Nightwish in Toronto. No, he didn't drink, but you don't need to drink to party.

You're gonna have a good time at ProgPower with all of us who're older. Just dont be afraid of talking to people.

And soon you will learn that hanging with your mom at PP is very cool. I wish I could bring mine. But considering your age now, I understand this comment.
