you're missing the point - somewhat. yes, they already have this info, but if you worked for the government, you would know that it is far from centralized, and lots of times one agency's computers can't interface with another's. The Army, Air Force, Navy, often can't utilize each other's info because they were all developed somewhat independently. With recruiting numbers lagging way behind goals, the pentagon is preparing (not necessarily initiating) a draft scenario. In a way this is smart - we must be prepared. but if I had a son at draft age, or was a teenager myself, I would see this as a potential threat.
