Hi.
I actually got blackwater park around 9-10 months ago or so. I have been really taken with the cd for a long time now. Yesterday I finally ordered all the other 4 :)

I'm kinda wondering how the different albums compare?

Thanks,

Hey and welcome.

Just be prepared for very different-sounding albums. Hard to compare them to each other.

welcome rickster G.
They're all different in their own intricate ways, and each album has a pretty distinct feel. You will get to know if you have all of on a random play, you will tell by the feel of the songs...... (oh this is My arms your hearse, or this is Morning rise, BWP e.t.c. Once you know em you know each of their distinct flavours pretty intimately.
But yeah, their all crackers. You'll love em all. Especially Still Life I reckon... being that you're really into BWP

This is how I percieve all the CDs in term of their attributes.

Orchid - Best use of counter-point melodies. Most melodic.
Morningrise - Most epic, most complex.
MAYH - Most heavy and brutal (duh!)
Still Life - Most mellow, best acoustic moments.
BWP - Most atmospheric, and arguably, moodiest.

Deliverance - Most, ummm (?)

Y'know, I was just thinking. My most special Opeth song is To Bid you Farewell. I just recently split with this girl, and it made me cry.

Especially when he goes: "Why can't you see that I try? When every tear I shed...is for yooouuu"

Oh man, here I go again *sniff*, anyone got any hankies?
