Man, what a great boxset!!!!! It includes a killer book on the history of each band.... very INDEPTH histories I might add. And it's not just the glam/hair scene. It covers everyone from LA Guns to Lizzy Borden to the Joneses. Plus the songs are not just the typical tracks from the albums but demo or rare early versions.

In have the book already and scored a couple of promo discs from this set...
It's spendy for for the low budget label that it is Deadline & the sound of the recordings aren't that great...

Dude, alot of the tracks are from demos or very small press runs of singles (like it says that only 100 copies of the Micky Rat single were pressed). There's even some stuff from local radio on it. I am very pleased with the quality considering that this stuff is like 20 to 25 years old and God knows where they dug it up. I bet some of the tracks are from old tapes from some one's basement.

As for it being "spendy".. I picked it up at Circuit City for $40, not bad for 4 discs and a VERY infomative book (and a couple other trinkets).

SIX- which book do you have? The one from the boxset or the big hardback? The "Hollywood Rocks" hardback that came out last year is mainly just photos, not much info.... but still a fun book to check out. The book from the boxset is way better, it's loaded woth killer bio's.

Anyway, I'm very pleased with this thing, I'm learning a ton from it.... also adding to my want list of music to track down. :) Maybe this set will only interest Trix and myself.... I'd bet he already has it. :)
