There are some great bands out of the US, like Nile, Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal, Dragonlord, Suffocation, Immolation, Malevolent Creation. Ok enough death and black metal bands for now.

I too am a huge fan of Symphony X right now. I'm inlove with their Divine Wings of Tragedy CD. And yes, COB do indeed rock Like other people have pointed out, check our Norther, Kalmah. Also check out Dark Tranquility, pre-Clayman Inflames, Dimension Zero, Amon Amarth, Gardenian, Darkane. I can go on... But I won't
