homemade drum triggers??

oh gay, cloy i was just checking out your trigger, i made some too the other day, they look pretty rad, except i realise i've glued the element on the opposite way to you.. i haven't had a kit to test them on yet so i don't if i've screwed it right up or not. i have a thin layer of foam before the drum head too.. does it matter which way the element faces?

Connect to your interface, Hold them on a table, the way they would be mounted on the drum, and hit the table rather hard. If it picks up a spike, they will work... But how good, I do not know.

Also, I am going to be posting a DIY vid of how to make them soon.

thanks man, i did that the other day, they seem to work okay when i tried it on the mouse pad. i only glued two together, lucky i have more!

Nice tutorial. What is the basic cost per trigger?

Drum Clip @ 6.00 USD

Piezo @ 2.00 USD

Jack @ 2.00 USD

Plus some epoxy and foam, but most people may have those things around the studio/house. I used old packaging foam from one of my interfaces.

PS. The Part # in the vid is wrong, it's 274-340 not 273-340.

cool vid cloy! I finally am moving into my new apartment this saturday so i will be posting a video of how to mount them into drums and put on the mesh for DIY e drums!
