I noticed that there's no band history page on the website. Does anyone know how EG got its start? Also, how did they get a hold of Andy La Roque to handle production?
How did Evergrey get its start?

All of them have been playing and around for some time.
Tom started Evergrey, and is the only one from the 'original' line up.
Mike, Henk, Rikard and Jonas, most recent when Patrick left (post Recreation Day), have joined the band till they finally got it. Previous members for whatever reasons had / or chosed to do other things. A few of the ex:s are still active I beleive, Soilwork for example have ex Evergrey folks in the line up. The current members also been around it different groups and projects. A few of them have recorded albums. Rikard and Henk as well I think, and probably some more which I cant really recall...

As for Andy's involvement, he runs a big studio in Sweden where they are all from, so I doubt it was that hard.
That's a start, I guess. In any band with a constant rotation of members, interesting stories inevitably come up, with respect to how each member was introduced to the band, etc.
all i know at first tom wasn't going to be the singer when they started and someone else was but he left before the dark discovory came out. they asked tom to sing and he didn't even know that he had such a good vioce 2 months before the dark discovory.
