how does dl match up to other bm bands

How does dragonlord match up to allot of the other black metal bands around atm. i personally thing they rip over every other band out there. they goto be my #1 band eventhough they only got 1 album and are a side project.

the vocals are excellent
the guitars perfect
druming is insane
do they need any improvements?

do u think they wipe the floor with bands like cof or dimmu etc?

If you say you don't listen to much black metal, but you list like 11 bands, then I'd like to see your list for the genres you listen to alot.

Witchery is about my favorite band of the last three years. All Evil, Shallow Grave, Resurrection, damn, the best!! I don't have any of the other black metal on your list, but Witchery to me sounds pretty thrashy. Early Crown I own is pretty much death, but their last release is kinda thrashy, certainly their best material IMO.

If any of those others are like Witchery, though, I'd write a bad check to my mother just to get 'em...

I've only heard two -- Cattle Decapitation and Cephalic Carnage, and only 'cause they opened up for THRASH bands.

I thought Cattle Decapitation was OK, if I remember right. One of the opening Testament/Halford bands was decent, they might have been them.

In the end, though, it all boils down to thrash. That's where it started, that's where it'll end. I'm not opinionated on the matter, I'm just right...

I've heard all of those bands, 2 I like, 3 are okay, the rest I think are complete crap. But that's just because I don't particularly like the whole grindcore stuff like that, lol.

I must be honest here: I hate any kind of "core" music with a passion. It is horrid! When I was in high school it was quite popular for whatever reason, but I cannot stand it. Of course, this is just my humble opinion

Anyway, I think Dragonlord are very comparable to Dimmu Borgir's Spiritual Black Dimensions (SBD) album. It seems like Lyle's keyboards sound very similar to those on SBD. Nonetheless, I think that album is very close to the Dragonlord sound.

To me the vocal could have been improved, Eric has no special singing talent, nice voice, but its the missing the kind of long scream like on Mayhem, the kind of screaming/growling that torture a throat for 30 sec, if you see what i mean

And with Digiorgio on it, some bass soli like on Control denied are missing
