How I Got Djent

Seems quite alot of eq to me, maybe you could have got closer to the final result by adjusting the amp settings?

Sounds good either way though man. Would love to give this a go but I've not got any djent stuff to mess around with.

Don't suppose you fancy uploading the DI's and mixed bass/drums for this actually? I really fancy messing with some djent tones but don't have a guitar tuned that low.

Decided to mess around with some of Lepou's sims after watching this, really liking Lecto.
Hybrit and Lextac are really cool too. Not so big on Legion or LE456 though.

I think LeGion is really good for 'djent' tones, actually. Here is the chain I used: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39302626/Signal Chain 2.jpg There's also a boost at 180Hz and Stillwell's Rocket Compressor for post processing. Most important things are the emphasis on the high mids and the gain set to a fairly low setting. Here's a clip with this chain: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39302626/January 3rd Mixtest V2.mp3

Also, don't mean to hijack the thread or anything, thought I could contribute on how you can get djent tones, especially since they have such a strong association with the axe-fx and not all of us have £2000 to spare.

Yea the output of the tubescreamer is up full, which drives the preamp into distortion, therefore minimal gain needed on the amp

Nice to hear some of you guys are trying this out!
I do have to note that my Mbox Input gain was quite cranked so you should adjust it to your own taste with the gate and stuff.

Cheers,

Mendel

Btw somehow i got banned from the sevenstrings forum for posting this, does anyone have contact details from that forum.
I love it overthere

They're quite quick to ban people, but it is a very good forum. I would just wait out the ban and keep posting dude :)

Also, I forgot to mention in my last post, great tutorial and you got a great tone as well!
