I know I might get shit for this but I always thought AJFA was a shitting sounding production.

We even use the term "ajfa syndrome" when we hear a "whoumpy" guitar sound.
 
I don't really like the scooped thing when it's done to the extent featured on AJFA, but I'm much more concerned with those shorts in the first picture... seriously, I know it was twenty odd years ago, but goddamn! That's bad for *then*!

And his drums sounded GREAT on the Load albums in particular. The main problem with the earlier Metallica stuff is that the drums sound boxy and indistinct, which makes some of Lars' fills and things sound even more stiff and forced than they already are. :lol:
