We even use the term "ajfa syndrome" when we hear a "whoumpy" guitar sound.

well lars is known to be one of the hardest hitting drummers.

And his drums sounded GREAT on the Load albums in particular. The main problem with the earlier Metallica stuff is that the drums sound boxy and indistinct, which makes some of Lars' fills and things sound even more stiff and forced than they already are.
