How to get the sound!!!

Hi all

I have been trying again and agian to try and get the heavy sound that is used by katatonia, yet i can never seem to quite master it, it always seems to sound either too tinny or to rough, any ideas??

im using a marshall valve state and a the Boss GT-8.......
