How to get this bass tone?

How can I get this bass tone?
Is it a pedal that gives that edge or directly to the amp?

Imo that sounds pretty gross but I'd get a sansamp bass di and turn the presence and bass up a bit and that would ballpark it. Try Onqels BOD.

run a J-Bass through a 1073, utilize it's EQ to get that read mid-rangey character and absolute destroy the in/out transformers. =D.

Quite easy, That is a p bass played with a pick, run it through a tech 21 vt bass pedal.

p-bass or j-bass with neck pickup solo'ed, medium to high action and pick really hard. p-basses just have that grind.

Thanks. I was thinking about the BA500H because it has a 6-band eq. anyone have tried it?

actually the vt pedal is a pre so all you need is a power amp

check out the avatar cabs , 4-10 or 2-12. It's whatever you like. Might find a used ampeg cab

Avatar cabs are WONDERFUL for bass. A 410 is plenty and they have a ton of low end and they're super punchy. Plus they're cheap. =D
