anyone know any of the riffs from closure? i figured out the first and the last riffs but the stuff in the middle is tough. Since they played berklee lastnight, maybe some genius music student went home and tabbed it. Also, how about how to play To rid the disease?

I was actually just tabbing this because a lot of people were emailing me asking me if i had tabbed it. so i decided to give it a go. heres what i have so far... the riff from 1:08 - 2:43 is kinda "iffy" and i dont know if thats what is actually played... i tabbed it all from ear. if it doesnt look right in your internet browser then just copy it into a text document.

Awaiting word on what's to come
In helpless prayers a hope lives on
As I've come clean I've forgotten what I promised
In the rays of the sun I am longing for the darkness

(the rest is easy from here...)

thanks a TON matt. The only change i would make would be to look for mike's use of open notes like in 1:08 to 1:43 using open g string and maybe open d on the last part. and as to the other replies "music is only possessed by sharing"

One more question about Closure.
i'm still havin trouble in riff TWO--- 0:43-1:07 --
i'm playin a mix of what you both had for the first part but i'm not positive of what to play when mike says "painful in this" but i'm goin with what MATT wrote at the end the last time of riff TWO.
riff THREE 1:08 to 2:43 i'm definitely going with MATT only playing an open g note toward the end.
I also prefer matt's last two chords of riff 3.

i changed the 19th note of riff 1:08 - 2:43 to an open note, and your right it sounds better...
Im VERY sure that this riff is completely accurate now, it sounds flawless when compared to the recording of it.

Riff two is a weird one and has an extra guitar plucking high notes subtly in the background. I tabbed that riff so you can use one guitar and get the gist of both playing at the same time. :)

on the guitar not the drums dude!
why write at all then?
some seriously intricate riffs to figure out here

lol I know not the drums lol :D

besides, closure is about 20 fairly easy drum tracks stuck on top of each other.

opeth painter i appreciate your tabs very much, don't take it to heart, i just want to play the song as best as possible. do u put tabs on opeth's domain? if so, i probably printed some and used them extensively, stilldaybeneaththesun looks flawless

yes, i was just kidding, eh... it's not that important...

anyway, all the opeth songs i tabbed are in the zipped file i posted in this thread some lines ago
