No, you are thinking of hair metal <shudder>. Its ok for metal bands to not have long hair. I'm not so narrow minded that I will refuse to listen to a band base entirely on appearance. But a band with long hair that suddenly goes short will forver be linked to "selling out" and going pop, even if it is entirely bullshit.

Well said! I got booted (on purpose) from their forums because I was so sick of "fans" trying to constantly pretend that Metallica isn't over. Metallica was essentially over in 1986 with the death of Cliff Burton, but these people are trying to pretend like they've still got it - like maybe the NEXT album won't suck! Get a clue!!!

when did i say i refuse to listen to bands that don't base entirely on appearence? i just asked a simple question. i wouldn't really care if they cut their hair, i just think long hair is cooler.
