I actually listened to 'St Anger' twice yesterday

which is about once more than I've listened to 'ReLoad' and I must say that I actually quite liked it. Very surprising. It's quite catchy, the singing isn't anywhere near as bad as people have said, it's heavy and interesting. I actually like the abrasive production, though on the downside, it can be a little repetitive. And I haven't really found any dud songs yet, but as long as they're better than "Struggle Within", that's ok.

I watched the DVD again last night, and I've had "I'm judge and I'm jury and I'm executioner too" stuck in my head all night!

The DVD is great. Rob is hilarioues, looks totally like a retarded gorrila! I could never fault his playing though.. amazing at times.

All in all, the album is pretty good. It's far from perfect, but that was kinda of the point I guess.

I actually love the bass sound. It makes things fall off shelves when you play it too loud.

Good to hear Gore! I pretty much agree with that, all the things people are saying about production/performances don't bother me at all, but some songs drag on a bit.

Now I have that line stuck in my head.

I think it has to do with Rob's style that makes the DVD sound heavier/better then the cd since Bob played on the album

I think it is because they are playing the material closer to their normal live sound than the album sound, and having Rob on bass helps also. Some songs sound better on the DVD, some sound better on the album IMO. Frantic and a few others will be great live!

Having Rob Trujillo on bass would make any song sound better than it otherwise would be!

The DVD is very good, it's unfortunate I can't just put it in my cd player and only get the sound.
I like this album, never has bad as some people take pleasure saying, but it could have easily been better.
Like some of you said, it was intended that way, so it's a take or leave on the shelve situation. I guess I take, since I've been listening to it all week
I just hope Metallica won't wait 6 years to release something else

Yeah I know. I'd say about six months work went into St Anger (6 days max recording )
Thinking like that, it's sort of a let down.

I guess they just didn't want to obssess about the recording like they did on the black album. Ahh who knows, it rocks and thats all that matters.

Gore, I just realised what you said about 'The Struggle Within'. That song rules, and the solo is an absolute killer!
