Haven't seen any opinions on this? Been listening to it for a couple of days, and will say this is a solid "rock" album. Nothing spectacular, but certainly an atmosphere of these guys were having a good fuckin' time recording this. I always liked Abbath and am a big fan of Arve Isdal. I've talked to people who said this album is in their top 10 for 2006. I wouldn't go that far, but it is a surprise. Good Nordic rock. Any thoughts?:kickass:

^ It's not an Immortal album. Despite I sounding similar to Immortal, which of course is unavoidable, I is a different band.

Between Two Worlds is a grower. An initial listen and yes, you WILL compare it to Immortal's later two works, but the more you listen to the album, the more it becomes obvious that it is a work in it's own right.

It is an excellent piece of work with NO fillers, uplifting and fun rock 'n' roll inspired Black Metal with a GREAT line up in Abbath, Arve, King and Armagedda.

Between Two Worlds is not a groundbreaking album, it doesn't burn some kind of new musical path or shatter boundaries. But for what it is, it does it damn well and shows that Abbath & Demonaz CAN write catchy songs.

Excellent piece of work, and a must-have imo.

very enjoyable. gets the job done. i'm glad abbath got arve to play on this one. it shows.

^ well said, I think Arve's influence on this album is subtle, but his signature is obvious to those who appreciate him. I feel he's a very underrated and talented guitarist.

Could not have said it any better.

i heard some of the stuff on myspace and i have to say its not bad at all!

ive recently been on an Immortal binge and this definitely carries some of that sound to it, but still pretty different. good stuff though.

It is what it is. This is not black, death , thrash or speed metal. This is Abbath's baby; he wrote every musical part and Demonaez wrote the lyrics. Of course, there are Immortal influences. But, this is a separate vision. "I've had these riffs for awhile now, but they wouldn't have fit into anything Immortal was doing at the time." Abbath wrote the guitar parts, the drums and the bass and let all of the other musicians "add" their own personal touches. IMO, opinion this is the best "rock" album I've heard in a long, long time. Plain and simple. I've read on other forums where they say, " that's death metal, no that's black metal." Or "I" sounds like SOND or ATHOW. It doesn't sound like thoses records at all, the resemblance is Abbath did all the fuckin' albums. It's not complicated, it is what it is. A fuckin' rock album.

I know, but with Abbath in it and stuff, I tend to think of them as one. They sound pretty similiar to me also.

"Unfortunately, the vocals enter and pretty much spoil everything."

Oh god.

who ever gave oink the right to express an opinion, much less review an album :zombie:

yep the album is catchy and pretty kickass, as long as you don't wear it out - i listened to it for about 3 times in 2 days on ye mp3 playor and then i had to put it away for a pretty long time.
