exactly! and me, a much less experienced player, with a crappy knock off, can move up to a BETTER SOUNDING knock off! win-win situation!

You can tell if it's neck thru if it has any bolts where the body connects to the neck . . . or maybe you just meant you don't have it in your possession yet.

Either way it looks like a great value for a guitar of that caliber.

Looks like its probably not a thru neck judging from the style, but ehn. Still an awesome looking guitar. Are those Seymour Duncans in there?

i thought those peavey guitars were "moderately" priced, i.e. set or bolt neck...thru necks tend to be an expensive option, usually on higher-end models

There are plenty of guitars in that style that are neck thru.

True, but from the look of the neck design, pickups, bridge, etc. its a less expensive model, giving it less of a chance to not have the neck-thru design. I could be wrong though, it would in fact be better for erik if I am.

I'm sure several here think I'm the resident gear snob (and I very may well be, I dunno), but I'd like to say that neckthru isn't really worth it.

I mean yeah, it's nicer and all, but generally speaking it's big time bucks, better spent on something like a whole other instrument. Besides the fact that some very high end manufacturers like MTD (basses sell for around $3,000 on the used market) exclusively do bolt-on necks. Blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda.
