I can smell the ProgPower dvd!

Got an email from Lucid saying they couldn't find my address through USPS...

We are getting close! :)

You too? They got mine ok to me the year before, too
I think they rely too heavily on whatever address locator they are using (probably the USPS') I tried to look up my street address, and no go, no matter how many variations I try. What I find kind of annoying is that they are apparantly shipping via USPS, and are NOT shipping to PO boxes??!!!!
Especially since PO boxes weren't forbid when the ordering proces was happening. plus, I don't have rural mail delivery, it's PO box or nothing...I've written them back, we'll see what happens. The joys of living out in a rural Cheeseland.... : /

Ooops, no PO Boxes means my order is automagickally fucked as well. Two cheers for LL.

Why would'nt they ship to Post Office Boxes? That's the easiest thing for the P.O do recieve, all they have to do is throw it in your box ( and a dvd will fit in one) and the carrier doesn't have to "deliver" it anywhere.

Sounds like their address verification software doesn't verify P.O. Boxes so they refuse to ship.

If they already took your payment and didn't inform you of that then...well...that sounds like straight-up fraud to me.

I can only speak for me, and I understand Rich might be in a similiar situation, but there ARE still some areas in the boonies that don't have rural mail delivery to people's homes. My license even has my PO Box on it (Cops LOVE that!) I have no choice in the matter. The next town over delivers mail to our town, but only along the perimiter. It's really stupid. I did get my DVD ok last year, but what irks me is there is no mention of how the item would be shipped (USPS, UPS,??), and no mentiion of banning PO boxes. The easy solution is to use my street address & correct zip code, and on the second line, write PO Box 42. The parcel makes it to my post office, and since it has a box # on it, it doesn't get dumped in the dead letter abyss. My street address is also alpha-numeric, which is probably compounding the problem.
Too much reliance on computers, one solution doesn't fit everyone!
Hoping to hear back from them soon...

Perhaps they are using UPS to ship. UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. I think FedEx does not either.

They definately don't.
And since neither method was specified when ordering, I gave them the cure-all, BOTH. But since the PO's locator doesn't recognize my address, there seems to be a problem. I just tried MapQuest, and it shows my house if I put in Genoa City instead of Pell Lake. However, if I go to the USPS site & do the same thing, it shows it as undeliverable. For the love of God, I hope they can find a way to use my P.O. box, and my Pell Lake zipcode. I'll get it!
Farley mode /off

Man you must really live in the sticks. I deliver mail on a rural route that is 81 miles of nothing but hills and creeks and pot holes, and some adresses are 10 miles apart . Do you live in a tepee or a van down by the river by chance?

Hah! No tepee or van, it's a house (no it doesn't have wheels!) & it's actually not THAT remote, just a tiny unincorporated town that has its own post office, but no carriers.

My brother-in-law has been with the USPS for AGES, and can't figure out why they do stuff the way they do here. :zombie:

Metalsped & JDub, I can give you an address that will work. ;)

Good luck. I'm sure they'll work something out.

Has anyone received their DVD yet?

Well, I just walked to my mailbox (and donned the PPUSA VIII shirt for good luck) but unfortunately no DVD was there. It's probably for the best though because I'm about to go to sleep and probably would have felt compelled to stay up late watching it.

Hope they arrive soon...
