I can't believe there isn't a thread about Peter Wichers rejoining Soilwork on here..

I started to love SW because their distinctive guitar harmonies and riffs, they had something that i couldn´t relate to anything else, but they were losing that magic in guitars since FNF and started to focus on the Choruses, which i like too but no that much. my girlfriend give me Sworn as a gift, the special edition, i like the album but i barely listen to it, i don´t know, it has something that doesn´t hook me, i can go a listen NBC or Predators like 3 times in a row without getting bored, but this is like "Nah, put something else"

But back on topic, i´m really glad that peter is back, amazing guitarrist, and pretty cool guy, talked to him once.

The Chainheart Machine and A Predator's Portrait are my favourites. I started listening to them around then (late 1999 / early 2000), so those albums represent their peak in music to me :) I didn't much care for the more vocal-oriented style they started testing during FNF and then fully in STD. Steelbath Suicide and Natural Born Chaos are nice too, but not their best as albums - more like a song here, another there. That's where APP shines especially - the entire album is full of coherent killer stuff without any skippable songs.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!

I usually think of Chainheart as my favourite because it has more songs I consider 10s, but there's also a 7 or two that I tend to block out from memory. Whenever I hear Portrait, I am pleasantly reminded that it is pretty much solid 8.5 - 9s straight through, start to finish. Choosing a fave is a tough call, but a great problem to have. :)

Man oh man....you guys are telling me that pre-NBC is based on Speed's attempt in a catchy soft rock radio chorus?

Soilwork is still the most musically talented group of people that i have seen in action, especially so with Peter writing the music.
