I cant export mp3 on sonar HELP!

Mine asks for a software prog which you have to buy. So I just export as WAV then change it in SoundForge :\ Bit of a faff on!

Sonar ships with a 30 day trial of the mp3 encoder.
Reason is, every time a program includes mp3 coding, they have to pay the creators of mp3 a royalty.
To cut costs on Sonar, they allow you to include your own mp3 coder.
Some people use LAME mp3 encoder which is freeware.
I, however, use a variation of this, WINLAME, which is standalone and does the job a LOT quicker!

Mp3 encoder thats it! Nice one Gav Ill have to try that WINLAME , ive tried LAME and it dosent work.

Ditto! Nobody I know have ever really heard of it until I started talking on this forum. There is tons of stuff thats way over my head on Sonar, hopefully ill put all of its features too good use one day!

Ive got the producer edition Comes with V-Vocal etc. Bloody awesome technology....shame I havent really recorded any vocals to test it on properly but ya know one day! 
Ill need to use it exclusively when I knock a few vocal takes off! haha!

Tell you man, V-vocal is awesome on guitar solos where it's a perfect take but a bend is like 5cents out! hahah

Yeah, it does work fine, but Winlame is a LOT faster and i'd rather have the wave file and the MP3 without 2 slow ass encodings.
Plus, it's stand alone so you can use it on ANY wave

I find it pretty convenient that I can export into various type of mp3's straight from Sonar. I also use LAME with Exact Audio Copy to rip my cds.
By the way LAME is also stand-alone.

Faster, because instead of exporting a wave AND an MP3, i can export my wave then encode it in under 10seconds to an mp3 if required in WinLame...
Only thing that would make Winlame a faster option is that if you use Lame as stand-alone after exporting a wav from Sonar and had to type everything in the command line. Unless of course you're a fast typer. The actual encoding times are pretty much the same. Trust me, I checked.
But then again by using LAME (or other supported external encoder) in SONAR you can export a wave and a mp3 at the same time with no extra fuss.

i downloaded the lame thing but when i use it the end result is 2 mins longer than my original wav and all it is is fuzz
Can't really say what the problem could be without a more detailed description of what exactly you've done.
In SONAR go to: TOOLS -> Cakewalk Ext. Encoder Config
When the Cakewalk External Audio Encoder Setup appears press the Help-button. It's all explained there.
If you've done exactly what the Help says and the end result is still fuzz, you can always try winLAMEor RazorLame.
