I found a japanese band that sounds kinda like SikTh

Maybe a little tiny bit of Sikth in there somewhere but it did feel more like something else... can't say what though but something like metal from the late 90's when metal starting becoming "modern" and "cool".

Speaking of Sikth though... can't think of many bands that can surpass them in sheer fucked-up-ness in a way that makes sense. There are lots of bands that just play random shit in order to try to be extreme, but I think Sikth actually pulled it off so well, they created like a new genre almost... yet it's easy to follow and sing along.

too bad bands of such concentrated talent tend to fall apart so quickly.

Bands that make it have 1-2 talented dudes and a bunch of hacks (metallica :heh:)

I don't think Maximum the Hormone sounds like SikTh at all, more like SOAD, Tool, RATM etc. put in a blender and mixed into amphetamine. Crazy band. The bassist has some nice chops too.

The only "Japanese SikTh" I know is Cyclamen, but that's a solo project of a Japanese guy living in Britain:

Cool, I didn't know about Cyclamen and I could hear the obvious SikTh influences... too obvious :) Maybe I'm too picky but it's so hard to listen to anything "SikTh-ish" from other people, it just feels wrong. From Cyclamen's MySpace, I jumped to Mikee's space and watched the video of SikTh's last gig.. gave me INSTANT goose bumps.

Dude I like these guys! I haven't heard a band that is this much fun since Christ left Chicago! Thanks Ahjteam! I've been watching different music videos of theirs for the past half hour or so now, haha. I really like "Koi no Mega Lover". Gotta love the J-pop parts!

For a "Sikthy" band, what about Shy of The Depth?

Shy of The Depth... pretty awesome except for the vocals! :)

I digged it, I think I can listen to more stuff from them despite the vocals. I usually get used to vocals I don't like anyway... same thing with Sybreed, hated the vocals first but then kinda got stuck to it :D

Ha! That's the same thing I thought when I first heard Sikth! But they grew on me. I'm not sure if Shy of The Depth will really grow on me though. Kind of one of those situations where it's like "I liked them better when they were called Sikth." I'm not terribly fond of the genre though. Sikth was kind of an exception for me.

maximum the hormone is super weird. I'm kinda torn about them, because they have alot of elements that i enjoy but they also have moments i can't stand. They do alot of rap metal/funk parts that bother me, but they have some cool stuff too.

Well, nothing beats SikTh man... :)

Heard Maximum The Hormone before, I have a couple of friends who like them.
Never heard SikTh before tho, went to their myspace and listened - really interesting I must say! :)
