Got Battletorn's 2009 album"Reflect the Filth" (green splatter vinyl) along with "Terminal Dawn" CD - Limited Edition 500 copies including 6 remixed/remasterd bonus tracks from "Burn Fast" EP

If you're not familiar with the band, you should check their stuff out. For a duo, they've got big sound. Music is thrash/punk/metal...

Agreed. The new Anathema is amazing, but the new Opeth is a real snoozer. I don't necessarily think the problem is the new direction, it's the songs in general. I think Mikael is getting a bit of an ego problem lately and thinks he can do no wrong...but Heritage is just not very well written at all.

I love Folklore and Pyre on that album, amazing songs. The Last few minutes of Folklore are some of the best in Opeth's history.

Yeah, I gave it a couple of listens thinking it will grow on me, but it blows.
It's missing that awesome songwriting they used to do.
The live show is good though, but bring a chair because it feels like a really long wait when standing.

yeah new opeth isnt great, i was expecting more of a prog album. taking out the metal sound and leaving only the other 40% of opeth is hardly worth the term "progression"
