I.I.T: Slate Digital - VBC - FG GREY

It's a very fascinating thread and open to all of us one opinion on simple measurements of digital analog modeling. That's the point.

Could it be interesting alongside real analog counterparts test ?
Yes, of course !

Doesn't mean nothing about to be useless or not ?
Not, it doesn't !

What about some test on UAD plugins claimed very "analog" digital modeling ?
What about some test on Waves plugins ?

It's somewhat interesting to see what the plugin is doing.
would you mind doing some graphs of a non-emulation compressor such as Reacomp? Reacomp is extremely flexible so if you can match the compression character it would be cool to compare just the frequency response and THD, if it even matters.

Sure I can do that! thats a good idea, it will be like night and day

I've tested almost all Waves and UAD plugins already, both companies have some good ones and some not so good:erk:. All i want with this though is to stear off my personal opinions, and let the graphs speak and you guys be the judge of anything.

If you guys want to send me an actual 4K, Varimu & Red for crossreference be my guest:lol:

Definitely wanna see the comparison between ReaComp and this. Also, do you have any Waves mix bus comps? If so, that would be a really good comparison too.

I made the graphs already, I'll be updating it tomorrow! Stay tuned! now about waves or any other company each one will be a seperate thread;)

Yes, I am not trying to discredit your thread - as I said I think it's interesting. Just pointing out to others who say "it doesn't make sense / it's no help" that of course it will ultimately not be an indicator of how useful a plugin is or if they will like it, but it will still be interesting and perhaps help with the decision which plugin to get.

Good point. I don't think I could really interpret a graph of a correctly-modelled-but-still-crappy-plugin, but if you point out how to look at the graphs and read them like you did in this example, it could work.

Yes thats what I'll try to do!:saint:

What is this software?
Interesting results...

Hi this is a vst plugin analyzer given to me by the developer, there a bunch of software for this purpose, It doesn't matter wich one you pick really, look in the KVR for these!

Also tests can be done manually aswell but that sugests external routing that might temper with the results, so digital iternal routing is best for plugins.

Can you check some of the nebula compressors? such as alexb 4k dynamics pack or 1176? Would be really cool if you could shed some "techinical" light on nebula stuff.
Thanks a lot and great work!

Interesting and good article !

I am studying media engineering and what you did is a standard for analyzing and creating something digital.

So yeah with this graphs you see a lot and see the analogues to analog equipment
