I need a good amp sim or IR for bass for nu metal type bass
i'm using vst Virtual bassist and i need to create a more realistic sound.

Both the ampsims mentioned can get you a great sound if properly tweaked. The cabinet simulation is usable as well, but here are a few impulse sets of bass cabinets; a couple Ampeg 8x10's and an Eden 4x10. I have had these for years so I forgot where I got them from, all I know is they were free so I don't think I'm breaking any copyrights here.

Just HP the bass somewhere in the low mids to get rid of the lows, send it through overdrive/distortion, then load my IR at the end.

I am tracking bass for an album on Wednesday.
If I remember I will make an IR of Harke VXL Bass Pre>Warwick Tubepath 5>Warwick 410 cab>421>API Mic Pre.
I don't know why I never did this because it would be great for guide tracks for me.
