Hello All, belated New Year greetings !

I can thoroughly recommend the new album by "Iced Earth" titled "Glorious Burden" Tim "Ripper" Owens has just joined and the album is an awesome diplay of POWER METAL !

Check out the limited edition didgipak with the additional CD Gettysburg 1863 a 32 minute classic !

They are also doing a one off UK gig Sunday March 21st at the Mean Fiddler.

Keep on Rocking and keep it real just like...... :Spam:

Hmmmm, think i'll pass on that album. I haven't heard anything by Iced Earth before, so i can't comment on them, but the fact that Ripper Owens is in the band puts me off straight away. The stuff he did with Judas Priest was bl**dy awfull (Judas Priest are one of my fave bands by the way). Good riddence to Ripper, and welcome back Rob (the metal god) Halford.

Fair point you didn't like the stuff he did with Priest, but at the end of the day he was a hired hand not the creative influence so if it was awfull you can hardly blame him.

Priest chose him to replace someone that was as it turns out with hindsight was impossible to replace.

And yes I have seen Priest with Halford and with Owens and at times as frontmen they have both made me cringe.

But hey Priest are a true GIANT OF MEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTAAAAAAALLLLL !

Don't know if anybody saw this but a bit of bad news for a former member of one of my all time favorite bands Judas Priest, I hope this a farce.

BBC News (news.bbc.co.uk) reports that former TRAPEZE/JUDAS PRIEST drummer DAVE HOLLAND sexually abused a 17-year-old youth with special needs who visited his home for lessons, a court was told. David Holland, 55, who played with the heavy metal bands in the 70s and 80s, faces one charge of attempted rape and five counts of indecently assaulting the teenager. Spiros Laouitaris, 22, who also stayed at the musician's cottage, is charged with four counts of indecently assaulting the same teenager. Mr. Holland, of The Green, Stoke Bruerne, Northamptonshire, and Mr. Laouitaris, of Bourne Crescent, Kings Heath, Northampton, deny all the charges. First happy new year Fingers did ya have a goodun? Priest with the Ripper were shit .In his defence his vocals were fuckin awesume and he haredly took part in the writing of the songs on both albums,so you know who to blame.AS for Dave Holland if it's true F.O.A.D.

i agree with you there its a great album the new iced earth album, not my favourite but its good... yeh, again as with priest dont dismiss it cos of the ripper, he didnt have any creative input he just sang on it, and well at that... you should check it out... you never know what your missing out on...

I must say I dont like ripper being in Iced Earth. They have always been one of my fav bands, and Matt Barlow was the best singer they ever had, his voice is amazingly good and fits precisely with the kind of music IE do.:worship:
Im not really a fan of the new album you can say...:erk:

:erk: :erk: 8 yrs! damn that's tough.

UK paper The Times (www.timesonline.co.uk) have reported the following in the case of former JUDAS PRIEST drummer DAVID HOLLAND: "David Holland, the former drummer with Judas Priest, was jailed for eight years today for the attempted rape of a special needs teenager. The rock musician was convicted of one charge of attempted rape and five counts of indecent assault on the 17-year-old boy at the star's rural Northamptonshire. The youngster had visited Holland for drum lessons when the attacks took place between June and December 2002. Sentencing Holland, Judge Charles Wide, QC, said: "(the teenager) was a boy with a very, very troubled past. You planned this abuse by grooming his parents and him through the careful construction of the opportunity to abuse and the common factors of detaching a boy from his parents by giving him cigarettes, alcohol and porn." Holland, 55, of The Green, Stoke Bruerne, Northants, was convicted by a jury of seven women and five men at Northampton Crown Court on January 23 this year. Judge Wide added: "You must never work with children

Tough but deserved... you cant defend a paedophile just because he was in judas priest... good drummer, crap person... He deserved every second of what he got...
