dude, not quite. maybe you got yours for 17 but ive never seen such a thing. we have a mini dealer here and i check out their inventory sometimes. there is NEVER anything under 20 big ones.
anyway, minis are great cars. i envy you. but for MX5s, theres an absurd afermarket. take a $10,000 used mx5 and add $10,000 worth of flyin' miata parts to it and youd have a machine that could toast all but the most ferocious of porsche 911s.

CA is still price gouging on new MINI's after 4 years on the market ... demand for them is pretty high there.

But yes, a used Miata with all those upgrades will make a butt kicking machine.

Believe it or not though, the main reason for getting a MINI (after being able to fit in it) was the warranty and service plan BMW has. I had a lot of unreliable cars in the past

heh, yeah, it said you had a new post here but when i went to check it out...nothing.

anyway, i live in nashville, not compton. i wish i did though.

yeah, i looked seriously at getting a mini because of the nice interior, "4" seats, and performance but i currently cant justify the price. used ones are still going for about 17-18. there are some many other vehicles that i would take over a mini at that price, ie subarus

subarus are great and ballsy ... like I said I wish my height would allow me to fit in one properly.

there are many factors when buying a new car ... price alone should not be it.
for example, for the MINI, in the 2 years + of ownership I have not paid a dime out of pocket for service or repairs ... not even oil changes. all covered!

plus the resale value is ridiculously high ... dealer offered me $15K a few months ago for it ... paid $20K and the body of the car is not perect.

wheels pushed out all the way to the four corners ... that's really it. and a high roof ...
the car is taller than most coupes and even sedans.

I think the name itself ... MINI ... creates some psychological voodoo in peoples heads thinking its too tiny ... actually the Miata is smaller.

i was eyeing my neighbors MINI today after reading the thread. the wheels are as far out as physically possible. kinda cool.
and yeah, the MX5 is pretty small but the new one is supposed to be a bit bigger inside and out. heavier too. but much much more power than ever before (my 96 has about 140).
