I tried starting a thread a couple of weeks ago... Band related. It got 2 posts (other than the first one), and one of them was off topic :p. It was a "Perfect DT set" one. I tried a realistic fantasy tours thread aswell and it went down the pan. The point in this post? letting others know threads dont start round here because people can discuss all they want in the immensely broad long threads which already exist (Nf thread, Fact thread, Np Thread, Concerts thread, pic thread). I bet it makes moderation fun.

I sometimes get woken by my cat trying to open my bedroom door (jumping up and grabbing the handle). It makes a loud noise.
 
You have a serious point there. Seems like nobody really wants to discuss the band. I joined this board mainly for this reason, so Im a bit disappointed now. But who cares anyway? :Smug: :p
 
it doesn't seem to me that dividing something that shows next to no activity into subsections would accomplish much. a subsection of zero would still be zero.

Actually, I don't post a lot because I do not want to bury topics that deal with the band. The main purpose that a lot of people join is to discuss band stuff. If that were in an area on it's own then they couold go there. The rest of us could talk about random bullshit, like which bands are better, or discuss art and other un-related topics without worry of burrying the important stuff.

It would allow for more open duscussion on current events that are happening throughout the world.

Just a suggestion though. Check out the Type-O-Negative board. It has three areas. Band (foir all things band related), Equipment (for talking about stage set ups and what not), and the Complaint Depatrtment where anything goes with a handful of rules enforced. I would think it would make moderating easier.

the rest of you can talk about random bullshit already. the rest of you is, in fact, kindly invited to talk about random bullshit all day. still, the rest of you doesn't. nobody buries band-related threads, nobody buries non-band-related threads: nobody buries anything because very few people post.

considering that everyone can already post whatever they damn well please wherever they damn well please, i find it hard to believe that the forum layout has anything to do with people not participating. if you don't post in fear of burying threads, then you must not have looked very hard at this board after all.

trust me, moderating doesn't get much easier than this forum. i clean up after the occasional mistake and help out with merging/sticking. it's been ages since i had to enforce any rule that would make people call me a nazi, millennia since anyone actually did. sometimes i almost feel like posting some porn just to send me a formal warning.

This thread has seemed like a bit of a kick in the teeth. since people said "Yes its dead" its suddenly woken back up. Everytime I come on theres a list of threads with new posts in, when previously there'd be about 2. And if I press Refresh, I actually se eother people have posted. I'll try and think of some interesting band related threads.

She's not telling you to go, gran marica, she's suggesting you do something instead of just complaining about it, or to simply stop being annoyed by it by not looking at it. Half of your posts here are of whining and attacking. And no one's going to keep you from doing whatever the hell you want, but don't be surprised when you get it back.

Well big fucking surprise, you might not like it but at least you have SOMETHING to read when i go off at someone, other than random "oh shit DT is great but i wish they would play more than 15 minutes at my nowhere 2 guys shitty town!" bullshit.
