If you like COB u will like this :)

It's not bad...they have some talent...But it would be a lot more interesting if they could find a style more original...Like now it's basicaly In Flames new era vs Bodom new era.

The second clip was good. Didn't really get into the first one, but the second clip rocked .

And who cares if their music is similar to some other band? If it's bad, it's bad -->> if it's good, it's good.

Period.

I don't know if these guys are already well known or not.
But I think you guys would like Insomnium. Very good compositions and pretty good vocals also. To my ears they sound a lot like Kalmah. But not a total copy.

I'll second that on Insomnium. All albums are good, their newest is fucking killer \m/_

New Norther is sweet too. They sound like a totally different band than from their other albums.

Agreed...but IMO to say a band is good well there's a % of my choice checking for originality. I like many bands even though I know what are their influences..but it's just a matter of song structures and techniques but with this band, you can clearly see the influences with concrete parts ( EX ; vocal parts on Ronin Revolution ; Soilwork - Rejection Role ). But again it's just a matter of what you're looking for....and I respect that.

a good example of a somewhat similar style to bodom yet completely original in their own aspect is Skyfire.

Yeah you're right...Now that I've heard bands like this one and Blood Stain Child...I think Skyfire or Kalmah are VERY original...

You guys can check out my band too (in my signature). I can't say we're very original but so far the response has been nothing but positive. You can listen and tell me what you think, don't worry if the opinion is negative, I'd like to hear anything.

I like Kalmah too, yes it does get repetitive, but it's melodic metal and they carry that out throughout all of their songs. I dunno, I'm into it. And Skyfire, I have some songs by them, but I didn't really get into them. What are some really good songs by them so I can check out their full potential?

I don't really think it's that bad a thing if bands sound somewhat similar. That's how genre's are created. I'm a big fan of melodic death metal, so I like bands like Children of Bodom, Kalmah, Norther, etc. They're the same genre of metal, but they all have totally unique aspects to their music. Not every band is going to create it's own thing. And sometimes when you're just starting off you tend to borrow stuff from other bands until you find your own style, and I think that's wat this Lords of Decadence band is doing.
