If you were going to make an 80 minute katatonia compilation,

what songs would you put on from each cd?

Argh, this was a tough one, but I came up with something like this:

...and I ended up with 12 seconds over the 80 minute limit, but I couldn't be arsed to do that much tweaking Some really hard decisions were made while choosing the tracklist; I'd really like to include Brave and/or Black Session, but they were just too long. I also had a hard time choosing between Day and Quiet World; I almost wish Katatonia did more stuff like Gone - disturbing, emotional, and at the same time concise, then I could put more stuff on a compilation like this (and yes, I know i omitted This Punishment).

I love doom metal but I do like both styles that katatonia has used.

I will make a 2 cd comp if I must but I just want to make sure I get a perfect mix of all their music from the first cd thru the current stuff. As mentioned, I love to have good comps for driving especially long distance drives. Plus, comps are good at night as less cd changing.

I also like to make comps for newbies to various bands.

If you are into katatonia, you MUST enjoy with them and apreciate their CD'S before DO. Maybe you like more after Brave era, but you can't say this!!!! Katatonia had influences from this style!!

For exemple, I like more the Brave era(between 90 'til 96) but still i enjoy with them listening Tonight's, Last Fair or Viva Emptiness. If you hate doom, you don't like some interesting jobs from Katatonia like Inside the city of Glass song, for exemple.
