just want to recommend this to everyone who hasn't given it a listen yet. it takes off right where "the adversary" took off, but it's much better produced and maybe a bit more dynamic than the latter. definitely one of the better metal releases of the year, and opeth fanboys should get it just to listen for mike's vocal appearance on "unhealer". this is so unfairly underrated for some reason, and it shouldn't be.

7/10 for me tbh.. Possibly like 6.9 if you were to be precise.. And this is being like.. Very strict about it. I just it a bit uninspired really.. That's the best word to describe how i feel about it.. Not bad though.

I quite like it, but I'm a bit off it atm. It is one of the better releases within metal for sure though. Next time I'm in the mood for it, hopefully it hits me harder than it previously has.

I actually got into it pretty quickly, which really kinda surprised me considering I was never a huge Emperor fan. Great record though, Ihsahn's a very talented cat.

"Unhealer" kills, I love the contrast of Mike's more guttural growls with Ihsahn's more scream-growling style, it really works well on that track. I wouldn't mind hearing more of them together some day.

Don't get me wrong , i don't hate it.. But.. Just quite a lot of it i feel he achieved already on the first release.. There are some cool new ideas.. But it just lacks a spark for me..

With every Ihsahn release, my love and admiration for his work goes up exponentially. I have FINALLY seen the greatness that is Emperor, and his work since Emperor has been amazing as well. As Roadking said, Ihsahn is one talented cat. Mucho respect.

Primarily his black metal screaming although he's not as good at that as he used to be. Theres also a decent amount of clean vocals aswell.
