Been listening to this nonstop lately. It doesn't really sound like BM to me at all, except perhaps for the vocals, and only at times. It's far more progressive than I thought it would be, and, oddly, I sort of like the sparse sound. It reminds me of how MegaDave once said that he doesn't want to destroy your ears, but "spank them". I can get my earsplitting, wall of thunder production elsewhere. Somehow, I think the production matches the material.

Like I say I think it's more black n' roll than black metal.

If indeed black n' roll, like death n' roll, is a genre.
