I'm finally going to see SymX live!

I am afraid about the show in Tunis. Is the band finally coming in this situation? :(

According to an official post by the festival's administration, the bands are fully aware of the situation and are still going to come and play for the brave Tunisian people. (whom I honestly didn't know had that much balls)

Freedom isn't free my friend. :) Tough times but they're passing now and things are getting back to normal.

For those wondering what the hell we're talking about, this is crazy but there's been a revolution in Tunisia during the past month where the entire people rebelled against a government which seems democratic on the outside but is authoritarian and politically and economically corrupt on the inside. The people (low and middle class) stood together and successfully brought it down, and are now in the process of fixing things and replacing it with a true democracy. The internet, facebook, and Wikileaks played a MAJOR role in what happened (which makes this revolution unique), and the same thing is currently happening in Egypt after the Egyptian people where inspired to speak up as well. Obama recently expressed an admiration of what the people here did, although the US government decided to stay entirely out of this ever since the unrest started (you see we don't have oil :tickled: ).

To be honest, two weeks ago the show was the last thing I had in mind. People died for this (over a hundred), snipers would shoot at the protesting crowds when the old government was trying to shut them up, at which they failed. (I personally risked getting shot at one point. lol)

Like I said though, the shows are not cancelled, and things are already back to normal. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. :headbang:

Congratulations my friend and all brave Tunisian people. I have seen in news how people sacrificed. Finally, its all yours. It will be great to be there in Tunis to watch the show together..See you there :)

My heart goes out to those of you who don't get to see Symphony X live. To those of us who do, we
should feel very fortunate. I know I do. I have been a fan for almost 5 years and this tour will be my second time to see them. May 8th at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, CA. It's been 3 years since I last saw them. I can't wait. I hope some of you will be there.

masqueraded is in the same hotel as SX are now in Tunis ! he's gonna be on air in the (only) metal/rock radio show tonight :D
He called me earlier, we're gonna meet up soon to give him his ticket and all.

You guys are lucky. I'm happy for you. I'm from Morocco and circumstances don't help me to come to tunis for what it can be my biggest chance in life to see Symphony X live and let the dream come true.. :(

We're getting Arch Enemy on Mai.. that's good news for us but.. y'know it's not Symphony X .. :D

Too bad :(
I just came back from the best show i ever been to. Russel Allen is definitely an AMAZING guy on stage !
We had a one minute silence for the martyrs of our revolution which was suggested by Russel, that was so respectful imo.
Yeah, a great fucking show, too bad it seemed so short, ehh, well, just like all the awesome things, they never last for too long.
I like one local opening band but the one from Sweden/Denmark was the gayest shit i ever saw !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got so tired before SX start.
Anyways, awesome show, Masquerade is the happiest person in the world now :D

^ I couldn't find you man. But I met Barbarousse and Masqueraded.

It was an unforgettable show. They're amazing on stage!

Here's a vid of Sea of Lies from the show. It was awesome how everybody was singing along to the songs.

I wish I'd get a chance to see them, but they seem to neglect Finland pretty bad. Atleast I'll see Devin Townsend Project tomorrow.

A couple of pics of when the local TV/Radio reporters flocked around the band on their arrival at the airport. :p

Some fucking badass pics from the Tunis/North Africa show, taken by a local photographer. Some of the best I've seen.
