I am afraid about the show in Tunis. Is the band finally coming in this situation?
According to an official post by the festival's administration, the bands are fully aware of the situation and are still going to come and play for the brave Tunisian people. (whom I honestly didn't know had that much balls)
Freedom isn't free my friend. Tough times but they're passing now and things are getting back to normal.
For those wondering what the hell we're talking about, this is crazy but there's been a revolution in Tunisia during the past month where the entire people rebelled against a government which seems democratic on the outside but is authoritarian and politically and economically corrupt on the inside. The people (low and middle class) stood together and successfully brought it down, and are now in the process of fixing things and replacing it with a true democracy. The internet, facebook, and Wikileaks played a MAJOR role in what happened (which makes this revolution unique), and the same thing is currently happening in Egypt after the Egyptian people where inspired to speak up as well. Obama recently expressed an admiration of what the people here did, although the US government decided to stay entirely out of this ever since the unrest started (you see we don't have oil ).
To be honest, two weeks ago the show was the last thing I had in mind. People died for this (over a hundred), snipers would shoot at the protesting crowds when the old government was trying to shut them up, at which they failed. (I personally risked getting shot at one point. lol)
Like I said though, the shows are not cancelled, and things are already back to normal. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
