I'm interviewing Mikael

Ask him what his favourite Playstation game is.
Also, how many cigarettes he smokes a day!

Those are by far the best and most important questions you could possibly ask him!!!

As for the evil thing: Bloodbath. My thoughts exactly. So what if the lyrics are silly. We know he's capable of writing kick ass lyrics. It's the music that they were aiming evil at. I wouldn't call Bloodbath a joke. I'd call it a full-length! The music's what Bloodbath's about, not lyrics. Hell, maybe this time around the lyrics will be more worthy for the skeptics. ;)

As for D&D, many questions about the lyrics there too. He's mentioned before how he handles writing them. For BWP it was like a 20-minute pit stop to jot them down whilst munchin' a quick donut. :p  Seriously though, I don't think there's as much thought put into them as some would think except maybe with the storyline albums.

My question (oddly enough) would be about the lyrics. In an interview on each album so far it has been asked/answered - what does each song mean?

Why is it so hard for people to understand that bands don't arrange their tours or decide what shows they'll be playing? It's the record companies and management. I mean they can choose what festivals to play and if they don't want to tour a certain place I suppose they could choose not to, but it's not like the four of them are sitting around plotting this all out. I always see thread/posts on different message boards like "why won't they play here?" or "will it be an over 18 only show?" It's just kind of silly at this point.

As far as the interview, I think you guys posed some pretty worthwhile questions and I hope he gets to answer all of them soon. Let us know when you get an email back from him.

I'll find out anyway so it's not important.

I was long but I find it for you since I would like to know more about it too...

From Bravewords.com:
"It has officially been announced that the two upcoming OPETH masterpieces, Deliverance (the heavy album) and Damnation (the mellow album), have been completed. Mainman Mikael Akerfeldt felt that there was more to say on this matter and decided to give BW&BK a further glimpse into the madness to come.
"We've been through hell and back," Mikael says with relief. "This is without a doubt the most gruesome recording process I've ever been part off. It almost killed me! Anyway, yes, you'll probably like D-1 if you switch to Death Metal mode as it's probably the most brutal music we've recorded. I don't know why really, it just got heavy as hell. Still we have more more mellow parts than I figured on the heavy album too, some Beatles 'Aaaah's' and some Scott Walker type vocals... it's fucking wierd, but I think I like it. I'm so godamn tired of music right now that I can't really say."
As for Damnation, the mellow album, Mikael had this to offer: "D-2 will be a very delicate and beautiful record I do believe. Steven Wilson (of PORCUPINE TREE fame) has really helped producing this and he plays some, a lot actually, mellotrons, fender rhoads etc. We have some percussion on the albums too. We really went over the top and just went completely nuts with everything. I just got home yesterday after 50 days in the studio so I gotta relax."

:err: This thread gives me deja vu. I just saw this posted the same way on the "Deliverance leak.." thread. :err: Weird.

Cynical Bastard-

I can't BELIEVE that user name hasn't been chosen yet! ;) The "why why why" about where bands tour is probably one of those things you'll never stop hearing. Get used to it. The record companies have the control on touring.

He could be waiting for release to answer questions for all we know, heheh.
