IMMORTAL BEST BLACK METAL BAND EVER?!

opinions and critisms welcome, i think immortal are the best black metal band ever, there songs are just....theres no words to describe, abbath has an amazing stage presence and voice, he has played guitar bass drums within the band, they're just amazing!!!!!!!!

I prefer their older stuff, particularly Pure Holocaust and Blizzard Beasts, but I do enjoy At the Heart of Winter very much. I cannot get into their last two.

It's hard to argue with. The onlt thing you could mention is that they drifted away from BM after the first few albums and became more of a death band but, to put it bluntly, they kicked arse!

I agree there older stuff was a lot better. I mean Sons of northern darkness
was in genius but there older stuff is better.

Immortal is among the best of the old Norwegian scene. However, there are a ton better Black Metal bands.

Don't get me wrong I think Immortals great but I'm a diehard Cradle of Filth fan. It could be worse, I'm sure you get an occasional Slipknot=God junkie who really just upsets the balence of things here.

I'd give the title to Dissection personally. I think Storm Of The Light's Bane embodys everything that black metal is about and they do it better than anyone.

But Immortal are one of my favourite bands.
