IMMORTAL reform!!!

Ulver starts making shitty techno music, and they are so much more?

Carcass revolutionizes the goregrind and the death metal genre, yet you claim that Ulver, who made one good black metal album, before going all gay on us, are so much more?

:erk:

Hardly, Ulver are so much more. They have done so much more musically, and are one of the few bands to do anything purely electronic that I like. Carcass, while making a shitty goregrind album, a good goregrind album, a good death metal album, and a shitty whateverworthless album, covered a bit of ground in terms of different sounds, but they never did anywhere near the amount of different changes, different sounds, and they never put out one of the best neo-folk albums ever.

I don't know how we can compare the two. They're polar opposites in terms of musical styles.

Ulver is very good
Carcass is one of the best imo

Edit: Also Carcass has been way more influential. Ulver has done nothing new or unheard of. Sameal went electric also.

Ulver have done nothing new and unheard of? I guess you have not heard Blood Inside, which is incredibly new and pretty much like nothing done before. Ulver don't make techno, just because they make electronic based music does not mean that they make techno.

EDIT: And Sameal didn't do it all that well.

Yes I have heard Ulvers "Blood Inside" and sounds a lot like Radiohead with artsy lyrics. (the lead singers solo shit also)

blood inside was a difficult listen for me as well and im pretty open to all music. i can appreciate what they try to do but come on now..carcass>ulver or at least the new carcass for me.

back to immortal though...is peter goin to produce again? i hope so

No new album considered - just live stuff. I fucking love latter Immortal - that blackened thrash album rules over so calledblack metal (i.e. some fuckign Norwegian in a loin cloth recording in a shed on banjo with the bass turned down).

Yea I second that... Immortal has always kept my attention while other bands with similiar style of playing tend to lose after a few songs.

Yeah, it's difficult to have the attention span of a retard with tourette, isn't it?

Go back to listening to pop music, people, for black metal is not for you!

Immortal's pictures are great...

also

Ulver is, in fact, much more artistically significant than Carcass.

Carcass played generally 4/4, riff based heavy metal, from the beginning of their career to the end. The notes and themes changed, but they never got too far from being just another thrash/grind band with above average solos, which, in the greater scheme of creativity, means almost absolutely fucking nothing.

Perdition City > all the best Carcass songs put together on one album...

:)

Immortal has always been able to keep my attention from start to finish. A lot of black metal fails to do that to me. Maybe Burzum, Immortal and Winter of Apokalypse. That's really the only black metal bands I can continuiously listen to without getting bored.
