Let's continue to not discuss Immortal's reformation and how much Damned in Black kicked ass

Damned In Black is my least favorite album of theirs. It has some good tunes, but it's mediocre compared to Pure Holocaust, Blizzard Beasts, At The Heart Of Winter and Sons Of Northern Darkness. It seems like something they rushed a little.

When RIB came out it was awesome, relentless thrash but after years of thrashing it bored the fuck outa me. I still enjoy it but I agree with others who say it gets a bit forgetable in the middle. However, I do believe Altar of Sacrifice is a stand out track (but its not long enough!) and one of my favs but they seem to leave behind their good songwriting traits on RIB - its just fast for the sake of being extreme. Post Mortem is another of my favourites too, proving they shine when they take the time to slow down but it also contains that wicked pacey ending.

LU has the greatest Slayer cover art IMO but back in the day I was pissed off there wasnt a couple more tracks on it. All gripes aside, the atmosphere and the all star cast of tracks certainly sums up the magic of Slayer...

I used to think that. DIB has a more death - metal influence, but tbh, these days it seems to sound a whole lot better than it used to. OF course, it may be the premature onset of Alzheimers...

But does anybody know what instruments these latter two are going to play?
I mean: Will Abbath play bass again?

Unless Demonaz has miraculously recovered from his severe tendonitis i'm quite sure the line up will be the same as before they split:
Abbath - Guitar/Vocals
Saroth - Bass
Horgh - Drums
Demonaz will continue his role as lyric writer if they decide on making another album.
