Regarding the Forum Closure:
By late autumn of last year, the band got to a point where they were very frustrated with rumors and false information being posted on the forum, even after forum members had been asked not to post information obtained from outside sources, as the band desired for only official info to be distributed on their official forum . This, coupled with trouble started by some of the forum members on other band forums, including bands they'd toured with (and had good relationships with), led the band to decide to just shut the whole thing down out of frustration.
However..the forum is being given a second chance. We would ask that forum members keep these things in mind:
1) Only confirmed/official information is to be posted. Information is considered confirmed if it comes from the band and only the band, & may be found posted on the website, the mailing list, or the forum by the band's staff. You're welcome to ask if info seen elsewhere is legit or has been confirmed, but posts consisting solely of such information meant as an announcement will be removed.
2) Forum members who post on other forums about the band are a reflection of SymX; behaving poorly makes both SymX fans as a whole, AND the band, look bad. It can also cause unnecessary trouble with bands that SymX themselves have no problem with. As the SymX forum insists on respect for other bands, please do the same on other forums as well.
3) The forum is run according to the band's wishes, so please remember that any requests made by the moderators regarding the operation of the forum and any rules therein are coming directly from the band, & respect them. This goes for the mailing lists and the website as well.
