"Droogies!

On Monday July 24th we will be making the official announcement of Gigantour 2006 North America with information on this year's Line-up, the cities, the venues, and the dates as well. You can get information here or at the Gigantour site.

Meanwhile, deep in vocals-land, the choice of what new songs to break out live is as cool as it was during the KIMBABIG tour when we were playing the new music from PSBWB.

Stay tuned; things are going to start popping up for your entertainment.

I really hope they ask SymX to come. That would be a dream come true :D:D:D.

Don't want too bring your hopes down, but Symphony X were on last time. I think Dave wants new bands. He also mentioned that if he was coming to Aus with Gigantour there will be less international acts and a little more locals. Also Sym X only played 20 mins last time I heard if they are on it I want a long set dammit!

If they do ask Ssymphony X to play again, they damn well better let them play on first stage!! I mean MJR said that they have several songs done for the new album, and how awesome would it be to play the classics, AND whip out some new ones?
Actually..... I don't know if that would be too good, because that would bring yet another delay on the new album and possibly push it back even farther.

Nah...they need to get their album done wince they are at the virg of starting to record it, but maybe if it is in the mixing and mastering phases theh they could tour while this takes place and then have it released right after they tour.

They delayed the album for the last Gigantour, a year ago. And remember how they almost turned the tour down? Even IF Dave was going to have a band that was on last year's tour (I wouldn't count on that), it's just not the right time for SX.

oh yeah..the new album, reminds me of duke nukem forever, probably they will be released at the same date...NEVER :heh:

didn't megadeth do a duke nukem theme remix on the duke nukem expansion pack disk... i think the song was called grab bag or something.

*Hopes for Dream Theater again

Think about what gigantour did for SX last year though. It might be worth putting off the album to play again.

As much as I'd like it, I have to say that I think there's no way Dream Theater's gonna be on the bill again.

Doesn't rumor have it that Opeth, Arch Enemy and Anthrax gonna be at G2? That's what I heard down the grapevine.

I heard some rumors from Opeth forum that Opeth were on it, at least that's what some metal photographer said.

Either way, there's no way I'm going to see my fav band play for 20-30 min with bands I don't care much about. If they had a 2 hour slot then of course I'd wanna go!

I read in the DM chat transcript that bands that have played already will be welcome back in a few years. Maybe not the case with Anthrax, as they only played like 7 shows or whatever on the last one.

Oh, and how do you know Gigantour Oz doesn't mean Gigantour bands are just playing at a few Ozzfest shows. :D :p :D

Well they better have some good prog metal or im not going...
Megadeth is enough to make you go!

There is also a rumour that Overkill will be on it.:OMG: If that is true and it comes to Australia. I am doing a run around the whole country.

I'm thinking that by the time SX finish their album they would be ready for the OZ tour. Not the US one which is first. Also, they have expressed interest in touring australia and i'd think that the biggest thing stopping them would be money........ and gigantour would be a huge help with that.

Bands usually tour after an album anyway, and I realise they would probably want some time to themselves, but they are one of the biggest garage bands around and its not like they are full time.......or well not as much as bands like dream theater i would think. Correct me if i'm wrong here.

Anyway, it would be über-sweet if they came, but even if they didnt then whatever happens it should be a great tour :).
