two of my wisdom teeth were MONSTER wisdom teeth and the roots went into the jawbone. they had to crack those pups into pieces to get them out.

My bio-chem major roommate says that since ashes are mostly carbon, it would depend on their "functional groups" to make them either acidic or basic. So it depends what else is present in the ash compound besides carbon, which could vary.
