Impulses for mac

I've got AltiVerb 5 on my Mac. It's rocking. I finally made an impulse of my Mesa cab for use with my 5150 and it sounds exactly like the real thing. I'm blown away!

I will post clips as soon as I can (in a new thread.)

Shane, I would love to get ahold on you on AIM for a chat about Altiverb, I still can't figure out how to get impulses into the plug to use on guitar tracks :(

We need those mesa cab impulses!

I recorded the impulse with an i5 mic. I'm really happy with how it's worked out. I'll give you guys the impulse and the AltiVerb preset when I get home (I'm at my girlfriend's place for USA Independence day today, I will be home tomorrow though.)

Thanks you!

BTW 006 I´m thinking on geting Altiverb 5. Is it a PITA to make those impulse files work???

OK, I've finally put the Mesa Standard (oversize) 4x12 impulse response online:

http://www.backmask.com/sneapforum/Mesa4x12_IR.zip

What's in the zip is 2 things - an AltiVerb preset (the folder) and a Sound Designer II file of the impulse itself (so that it can be used with other convolution software.)

As for background info, I ran the impulse sweep out of my MOTU 828 Mk II into the effects loop of my 6505+ (to skip over the preamp stage and just use the power amp), and out through the Mesa cab. I recorded it back into the computer with an Audix i5 mic, back into the MOTU interface. No other hardware was involved. Speakers in the cabinet are the stock v30s, and I have isolation foam on either side of the cabinet.

So far the results I'm getting are killer (I will post soon.) I highly recommend getting a THD Hot Plate, it makes for a complete solution where you never have to hook up or mic a cabinet once you've got some impulse responses you're happy with! Especially useful if, like me, you have neighbors who won't tolerate a thunderous high-gain tube amp shaking the common walls of a complex.

I converted it to .wav with Awave Audio converter but it doesn't sound like cabinet impulse. Its obviously not converting correctly. Any suggestions for a program I can use on a PC?
