They need a DVD that documents their career from start to present. From the work and info on the albums, the albums their selves, tours, and how they got started.

I DEFINITELY agree. 2/3 bands has done it so far.
Also it's pretty weird I think, I've never heard/seen of ANY photos/videos whatsoever of IF's studio sessions pre-STYE. I mean they must have recorded something from their earlier days mustn't they? It's really weird.

They're definitely at a stage in their career where a documentary is a serious option... problem is, will it be worthwhile?

Yes, they have new legions of fans, but most of them don't give a shit what In Flames did before 2004. If the CD focused for too long on anything pre-2004 I don't think a lot of new fans would be interested in it, and if the DVD focused mostly on post-2004, or even post-2002, it wouldn't really interest me at all.

I guess it's up to them to decide what's financially viable. A good idea in theory, though.

The problem is, how badly Anders seems disassociated with all the old work they have done. Someone asks him a question about older lyrics are concepts and he's like "(laughs) You people....".

I was thinking about that aswell, regarding DT's Where Death Is Most Alive.
It's REALLY weird how Anders didn't get interviewed, he was a HUGE part of their band the first 4 years. I mean, it can't be that he didn't have time really..
They could have shot the interview anytime really, I'm 100% positive he had to had time one day. But he did approve all old bootlegs of the band though, really nice of him. I wonder if he don't like the way he sounded back then or something..I'm gonna ask him on the next band chat I think, and also gonna ask if there is video/photos of their earlier days studio sessions. They do have a DVD planned for sure though, they've said it themselves, my guess is that they will record it right after next albums release, or possibly at one of the few summer dates. And who knows, they might have an huge documentary in it aswell..I just think it would be better fitting to release it in 2010 as it is their 20th anniversary. Very unlikely to happen though.

If they're going to neglect their old material in a documentary... then it's not a documentary.

Mikael said Anders and them couldn't collaborate a time.

Ya I doubt Anders was like "fuck off but ok you can use those old tapes". Probably just too busy.
