Just wanted to say, there is a way to make the Ipod play one track and stop, simply by creating a separate custom playlist for each sample/song. For my band I have my whole setlist in separate playlist in order (01-...02-...) so it's super easy for the drummer to find each track. I'm talking about full backing tracks, but I did use to do the same thing with an older band, my Iphone with a couple intros, also took a small mixer so I would just send a DI to the FOH and tell them to keep that channel open and loud
