Their ultimate metal forum was shut down a while ago. They do have an official site, jsut google it.

IF you havent allready check out: Alternative 4 (not a single ray of hope), Judgement (beautiful both musically and lyricaly) and A fine day to exit (my fav).

Have fun wazy baby.

A Fine Day To Exit has slowly climbed up the ladder to be one of my fav albums that i own. Took me a while to really appreciate, but it really is a brilliant cd.

Any recommendations on what to get next? I hear Serenades and The Silent Enigma are both meant to be pretty good, but ive also heard that AFD2E was quite a break from their other material, so don't really know what I should try next.

The silent enigma has growling vocals and is much more of a traditional doom album, as is serenades. They are good, but I would recommend judgement next, although thier latest album A natural disaster sounds more like AFDTE its not worth the forty bucks they want for it in real groovy If ya can find judgement get that, it wont dissapoint.

I recommend Judgement or A Natural Disaster. I like Judgement better but A Natural Disaster has some gems on it.

I love Anathema. Their music is beautiful...and oddly, if I'm listening to them when I fall asleep, I always remember my dreams. It's strange...

Whoa, me too.

They are pretty damn amazing. Great lyrics. Kicks the shit out of most of that emo crap...that some people tend to categorize them as (though I disagree).

I also recommend Alternative 4 and Judgement. I have Natural Disaster and Fine Day to Exit as well...they're also good.

Its best you just buy whatever you can get a hold of. I need their new DVD. I only have the old one.

i'd rank their albums this way:

1. Eternity
2. The Silent Enigma
3. Alternative 4
4. Pentecost III
5. Judgment
6. Serenades + Crestfallen
7. A Natural Disaster
8. A Fine Day To Exit

so i suggest you start with Eternity and go down my list then...

Any fans of the earlier stuff may be interested in Darren's latest band, Serotonal.

Their website is at www.serotonal.co.uk There are tracks to download for free with their blessing, I know you all love that.

The other 2 bands he has been in since leaving Anathema were The Blood Divine and Dead Men Dream.

Anathema did a Dvd concert in Istanbul on May 20th.(ı dont know the release date)It was good and they did a 2 cover songs,1-Comfortumbly numb,Pink Floyd,2-The phantom of the opera,Iron Maiden.
Anyway,You can check Alternative 4 and Judgement first.

Yep, they are awesome! Music cant get more emotional than that imo.
They deserve more fame though. And they need to get their asses to sweden soon. (do they hate scandinavia or what?) :erk:

Anathema is a fantastic band. I have been listening to them for a VERY long time. In fact, I have Opeth to thank for that and a few other bands as well. The album BWP notes alot of key bands.

I'd rank Anathema's album's like this;

Judgement
Alternative-4
A Natural Disaster
Eternity
Silent Enigma
A Fine Day to Exit
Serenades
