Hi there!Couple of weeks ago I've started to record 10 songs with a local band and we've made a deal to record, mix and master their first song for free and if they like how it will sound they'll pay for other 9 songs. So far we recorded and mixed the first song and they like how it sounds.I don't have experience in mastering so I like to make and offer with you.Is there anyone here interested to master their first song for free and to take money for the other 9 songs? If there's a more than one mastering offer the band will choose which master they like and that user will master the rest of the songs for money.I think its a fair deal.Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand. Thanks!

Me thinks it's better if you just hit up a pro mastering engineer to be honest, because you'll find pretty much everyone here is more of a specialist in mixing, editing and tracking rather than mastering.
I could easily volunteer for this, but truth is, fucked if I know how to master properly.
However Plec posts at this forum, maybe send him a message

For a pro to master something though, the price o_O:cry::cry:

Me and him were talking about this last night on MSN, I was going to download the track then but my internet has slowed down :D

Well if the band can't afford to master, maybe it's an indication they needs to wait until they have the money and should put the project on hold?
Or better yet, should have thought about this prior to starting the project? I
Because chances are if they are releasing a commercial product, they are going to have their work mastered by some hack, get disappointed by the quality, then send it to a pro, which would cost more money than if they just sent it straight to the pro and getting it done right first.

So far 7 people offered their masters.Tomorrow I'll talk to the band to hear all 7 masters. If they like the song finished and we continue to record their other 9 songs the whole project will master by the user that they choose. Thanks for the help!
