Iron cobra double.

I bought one used around 5 months ago.

Tonight I decided to clean it up and lube it (as well as tighten some shit down).


FUCK, I get why these are popular. Shit is fucking smooth as hell, especially lubed and tightened up (actually that was why I did it, it was noisy). So much better now though haha.

CSB of course.

The only noise I could not eliminate was the spring flexing. I have no idea how to fix it other than replacing it so I guess I'm just gonna do that.

Trick Pro 1V's are the smoothest pedals I've seen...They are solid as a rock, too.

Our drummer rocked the Iron Cobra for EVER. He said he tried the Tick pedals and they were pretty amazing. He recently got an Axis longboard. But, I've been away on a job and haven't had the chance to witness this beast.....

The beaters actually make a world of difference, and I'm not talking about the material, but about the weight.
Compared some different beaters (all plastic) in a blind test on the last alestorm recordings and I was stunned by how insanely big the difference was.
Can't find the clips anymore, sorry.
The heavy axis beaters hat the must klick/smack but not as much body and thump as the trick beaters for example. Or was it the other way round? Which I would have kept the files

I had someone in with axis longboards. I fucking hate the way they feel.

I could probably get used to them, but he had the springs set for pussy or something. They felt like they had no power.

Have not tried the demons or tricks.

When we did drum tracks right after our drummer got the Pro 1V doubles, I ended up putting little weights up by the beaters to give them a little more power. the beaters are EXTREMELY light on the tricks, so you don't get the momentum of the beater head from the stroke. Adding the weight seemed to give it better punch, and after a very short trial period, our drummer preferred it as well. He's left them on ever since.
