i heard its not, but how come? except for isolation years the whole album tells about some guy who lost his mom and became the devil's whore or something, am i righT?

No with a yes. Because of isolation years the concept idea was scratched, but the basic ideas for the lyrics in each of the other tracks remained. So that made the story not as free flowing as a concept album, and made more of an album just based on the occult

I guess you can make it what you want! My explanation starts with the song Ghost of perdition being the raping of a woman by Satan. The offspring becomes the Antichrist. The rest of the album(to me) flows lyrically through this young mans life until the climax, which is The Grand Conjuration. In this song, Satan is conjured through him to "gather his flock" and prepare for the battle of armageddon. Something like that. At least that is what I took from it. Someone enlighten me if I'm way off!

As far as I know, the guy kills his own mother, and then all these weird occult things happens to him. And it was originaly a concept albu, but Mike liked Isolation Years so much that he insisted for it beeing recorded for the album. :)

I'd be disappointed if you were right. I don't like all this evil satanic stuff.

I belive Satan makes the protagonist to kill his own mother and after realizing what Satan made him to do, escapes into the woods. Then Satan sends his hounds to hunt him down, but once again he manages to escape and for a short moment of peace, rejects Satan's will. However, he cannot return to his home and slowly decides to surrender to His will as there's no place for him anymore in the human society.

I interpret it as a metaphor of some kind of madness, or schyzophrenia.

Or maybe I intellectualize a bit too much ^^

It's a very loose concept, and it's out of order. Use search, I can't remember the exact order. The concept is fairly clear when you read the lyrics in order. But even then it's not like Still Life where it's very clear what is going on.

I'd be really interested in Mikael's explanation on what it's really about.

The concept sort of reminds me of Still Life, in that it seems to tell the story of someone who is exiled from society for some reason or another, and spends time in isolation while contemplating a return.

My favorite kind of story - one that is in the wrong order, has chapters that don't have anything to do with the plot, and in fact, isn't a story at all.
