I don't know if I want it exclusively for PM or not. It is definitely the issue of the board issues lately though as you can tell, the site has been running freakin awesome. I did some reading up on it and it seems it is a known issue for large Vbulletin boards. The site must have tipped over to the side where it just drains everything at this point with the amount of searches. One good thing is, the next update of the software they are putting in some new search code specifically for large forums so relief is on the horizon for that.

My internet is down so I am at the wife's work checking in. I will think about the PM deal at least for the time being for those who can't live without the search.

Well of course dynamically searching a database with over 3 million rows in it is going to be disgustingly slow - that coupled with the fact that the vB developers are generally fairly incompetent is a recipe for disaster.

You might want to look into a custom search that isn't shite like vB's.
